New Taipei Museum of Art JADE with Erick Limanhadi

Since 1970s, Yingge Ceramics became part of Taipei and make a different history in Taipiei's heart. The main theme of this area is telling about YINGGE CERAMICS ARTS, including ceramics workshop, Ceramic Art Plaza, and Yingge Ceramic Museum on South West which have important historical point.

The strong relationship of each object makes continuous story dan background of the New Taipei City. Starting from ceramic art workshop area it tells us about : the fist place & first step to start making a ceramic art. In this place, people can learn many things about ceramic, material, sense of art and also how to make it.

After people learn about ceramic art, they want to make a new ceramic art under her/his own idea. On this condition, usually they need inspiration. It comes from anything, exp. history, experience, some object, someone, etc. We can find that condition on functional of museum which display , exhibith , gather, disscuss arts, etc.

To transform those ideas into an art, people need brain (intellegence). When brain works to gather any information in our memory, each brain cells seacrh one to another cells which amounts over to 10 billion and highly complex.

The design idea is to transform a human brain and the complexity brain cells into a museum. The complexity of brain cells applied in every single complex sirculation inside the museum which can be seen even from the outside, so people can see the untangible art idea inside the "brain". This paradoxial scenario tells people about the complexity of brain and also exhibith it's faces.

After getting the idea, people can make ceramic art and the result is huge ceramic art in ceramic art plaza (as a symbol of ceramic art).
