Le Narcisse Blanc hotel-spa, the quintessence of luxury nestling between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, is close to the storied banks of the Seine, with some of the most majestic buildings in Paris at its feet. The very recently inaugurated 5-star hotel and spa casts its benign gaze over the city from its terraces and broad windows beneath the overarching sky. The romantic figure of Cléo de Mérode has shaped the genius loci. Cléo was a ballet dancer and the first photographic It Girl of the twentieth century, immortalized by none other than Nadar, Degas, Falguière and Proust, to name but a few. Hints of the mystery in which she shrouded her private life, and of her delicate free spirit, can be found throughout the hotel. Behind its aristocratic Haussmann façade Le Narcisse Blanc hotel-spa, the epitome of discreet hospitality, enfolds an enlightened alliance of Olympian volumes and understated refinement, magnificent high ceilings, and intimate nooks. The beauty whom composer Reynaldo Hahn loved to call his “pretty little narcissus” also inspired the atmospheric portraits that adorn the interior with the timelessness of purebred classicism. Back in the day, the celebrated Paris Universal Expositions, distillations of contemporary style and optimism, were held close by, as testified to this day by the Alexandre III Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadéro, and the Grand Palais. The owners turned to designers Laurent & Laurence, working with interior decorators Thierry Martin and Thibaut Fron, to bring Le Narcisse Blanc hotel-spa to full bloom. The quartet has created 37 spacious bedrooms, including seven suites, some with fireplaces, others giving on to their own terrace garden, or offering the rare pleasure of breathtaking views of the City of Light. All rooms and suites are furnished with a distinctive, uncluttered classism in refined colour schemes reflecting an enlightened taste: here an armchair with distinctive Art Nouveau curves, there our Nafir lamps in gold finish. Elsewhere, you may come across the unexpected charm of a delicate pearl moulding, a cloud of narcissi, delicate scrolling. In the restaurant, a lot of Fedora suspended lamps in rose gold finishing remark the elegance of the hotel.
