As Architect for the team, Arturo Franco together with Fabrice van Teslaar, Architect and Diego Castellanos, Interior Architect and Project Manager, designed and constructed this house: Casa Paz, in the Rio Cofio development of Robledo de Chavela, Madrid. Arturo Franco completed an Architecture Degree with Honors, at the Escuela Politecnica de Madrid (Polytechnic University of Madrid). Currently, at the age of 33, he runs his own architectural firm together with Diego Castellanos. He has worked in partnership with national and international architectural firms, with Jean Nouvel among others. The tunnel control building in Piedrafita (Galicia) on which he worked received the “Building of the Year” Award from the Architectural Association. Arturo has taught project level courses at the Escuela Politecnica de Madrid and has been invited as a guest professor to other Spanish universities. Since 1998, he has written as a critic on architecture in one of the largest newspapers in Spain as well as in other media and publications. Among other projects, Arturo’s firm is currently designing a museum for the City of Madrid which will house the headquarters for Intermediae (cultural project which will serve as a meeting point for artists and the general public) in the former “Matadero” (abattoir).
