Founded in 2017, SL Gallery was established by architectural lighting consultant William Schwinghammer to provide support for the diverse creative practices of emerging, mid-career and established artists within the community. He has always been immersed in the visual arts; working hands on for Leonardo da Vinci’s Fire and Water Codex world exhibition in collaboration with Christie’s New York, lighting Vincent van Gogh’s 150-year exhibition Vincent’s Choice in the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam, or following the works of Dan Flavin, James Carpenter and James Turrell among others for contemporary inspiration.
