Studio Randja views architecture as a craft as much as a goal. Assuredly it is the result of an objective and a tangible answer to specific demands, often with real constraints, but without ever restricting the emotional, symbolic and poetical dimensions of the projects and operations. Those dimensions must converge as they are the soul of all architecture. It is the very action of untangling that creates the possibility of having these dimensions to converge. Indeed, by easing the constraints, the intricacies and difficulties of any project, one may achieve the unexpected and unpredictable, be it a surprise, however subtle, a story or even an idea. This is how we work. This implies searching for technical performance without neglecting pleasure and coherence. The offers made, the studies accomplished and the competitions won and here presented are all attemps to give substance to this quest, to learn by experimenting and mostly by listening. This listening releases the key elements of a project : within the question asked lies implicitly the answer sought. Randja is also a homage to Mrs Randja Messaoudi-Azib, who has sought a larger freedom than that which was given to her. This reminds us at each instant that we must untangle ourselves from constraints and transform them into something positive, joyful and free.
