LAMAS (Lee and Macgillivray Architecture Studio)

We are a small international studio that experiments on architectural precedent, aesthetics, and form -- while always holding ourselves responsible to the pragmatic aims of our clients. In many of our projects, existing models provide a context for further exploration, hybridization, and even mutation. The studio operates equally in the most advanced digital fabrication and simulation as it does in vernacular craft traditions, conventional model making and drawing. Together with our energetic staff, we pursue the best possible design for our clients. LAMAS was a 2014 finalist for MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program. Our work has won the 2011 R+D Award and has received honorable mentions in I.D. Magazine, Architizer+ Awards, and ACSA Faculty Design Awards. Our current practice is backed up with 16 years of combined experience as project managers for SHoP Architects and Gluck+. We have designed and led those teams to earn P/A Awards and the 2013 National AIA Housing Award.
