King Roselli Architetti, founded in 1997, is an architecture and design practice concerned with the conception, development and realisation of projects which range from new buildings to designed objects. The constant theme is that of high quality modern design at all scales in which research into materials and technologies bonded to craft skills within the industry can produce spaces and objects which make the best of contemporary life.
Hotels and their interiors have been our main occupation to date. Our biggest project is the Es Hotel, a new building in the centre of Rome- completed in 2002. We have worked extensively on the interiors of existing hotels and the public spaces associated with them. We are currently responsible for the refurbishment and interior design of Palazzo Montemartini (next to the Terme di Diocleziano, Rome) as a luxury hotel. Site work started September 2009, completion 18 months.
The project for the exterior shell of the Sheraton Hotel sited in front of the Malpensa Airport in Milan is currently under construction- completion 2010. In addition, we have been commissioned to do the public entrance interiors.
In October 2006 we completed the Lateran University Library Extension and the refurbishment of the university auditorium. For this project we received the ANCE-InArch national prize for best new building 2008 and a special mention in the The Gold Medal Prize for Architecture given by the MilanTriennale in 2009.
Outside Italy, we have completed the planning and landscaping of a new tropical resort on the island of Langkawi in Malaysia, with the design of several villa types and all the public spaces in the complex. In Qatar we have won a competition for a hotel in Education City, Doha, with Ove Arup & Partners for the Qatar Foundation and are currently involved in a revised design for a new tender.
Interiors ranging from private houses to cinema foyers have involved us in the design of objects and furniture. Out of all of these projects some objects have been selected for production by Italian manufacturers.
