Archer Office is an award winning architecture and design practice based in Surry Hills, Sydney. The practice is currently working across a broad range of projects for public, commercial and private clients. We believe that excellent design outcomes emerge from a collaborative approach, whereby clients and the project team work together to develop a shared understanding of the problem to inform a robust architectural response. It is through this iterative process of analysis and production that new and unforeseen outcomes are borne. Archer Office is prequalified under the NSW Government Architect’s Strategy and Design Excellence Scheme, and in 2016 was selected for the annual Wallpaper Architects’ Directory, as one of 20 emerging practices from around the world, and the only practice from Australia. In 2017, Archer Office received the national Workplace award and commercial Best of State awards at the Australian Interior Design Awards, and commendations in both Heritage and Interior categories at the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter Awards. Tomek Archer is founding principal of Archer Office and the 2017 recipient of the Emerging Architect Prize awarded by the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter. The work of Archer Office reflects Tomek’s commitment to the application of design thinking at all scales, from urban design to the design of furniture. His product design work has received an Australian DesignMark from the Australian International Design Awards, and is held in the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Tomek engages in architectural culture through invited lectures and exhibitions, as both participant and curator. Most recently he coordinated a design studio in the Masters program at the University of Technology, Sydney.
