This two story villa in Basra, Iraq is quite an architectural marvel. The client has some very specific requests, including the dimensions of the room and the visuals of the exterior. The CAS team rose to the challenge by delivering a modern contemporary style villa that features quite an attractive elevation. With a focus on efficiency and practicality along with aesthetics, the materials for the elevation were chosen to be modern and suitable within the hot and sunny climatic context of the city. Designing in the minimalistic style is an art form, and not everyone can accomplish it well. Ahmad Al Suwaidi came to CAS with the task of designing a minimal style villa exterior that was both luxurious yet cost effective. The CAS team responded by designing a simple but unique design that utilized the existing edges and lines of the house. There was a slight change in the floor plan to accommodate the exterior design, but the overall theme carried out in a straightforward and simple way. This 11,000 square-feet house is located on Taipa Island in the Southern side of Macau. The owners live with one elderly and three children. Understanding the needs of the owners, the designer transformed the space into a more practical and suitable home for the family to settle in. Functionally, the designer relocated the staircase in the living area in order to create an effective and spacious living space for its owners. Apart from expanding the living area, the designer also designed two bedrooms for two sons, two sizable ensuite bedrooms for daughter and grandmother. The Cherry Home Retail Store in Riyadh, KSA was designed to emulate a minimalistic aura that highlights the products they salesell. In fact, the entire theme has been designed to be aesthetically cognizant of each and every product. The CAS graphics and interior design theme collaborated to provide a seamless styling that perfectly captures the high-end retail aura the client wanted to project to their customers. The grey parts expertly capture the minimal aspect of the theme, while the pink accents provide contrast that also match the product concept of this shop. This space was originally built by The William Kaufman Organization in 1972 by renowned architect Emery Roth & Sons. This initial lobby received several awards and recognition's for its innovative design. It was very different at the time and very controversial. As the architects given the opportunity to renovate this unique space, the standards were high; we still wanted to be be sympathetic to the existing lobby for its unique character and transform it into something spectacular and state of the art to compete with new lobbies in New York City.
