Light is life, it is what enables us to produce and create. We came to rely on artificial lighting in order to extend our workdays yet have reduced or even practically eliminated natural light as a viable lighting source. Clear or opaque light transferring panels are now being installed within metal, PVC & Polycarbonate roofs, yet rooflights could not be installed in insulated roofs without compromising the insulating properties of the roof itself.

Introducing Palram's Sunbox, a unique rooflight solution for Insulated Panel Roofs. It was specifically designed to allow maximum and effective natural lighting into insulated workspaces and storage areas while maintaining the heat/cold insulation properties of the roofing panels. Sunbox can be installed in either new or existing insulated panel roofs as it is pre-fabricated match any site, panel and customer requirements.

SUNBOX offers an optimally balanced solution for lighting insulated spaces. Its mechanical robustness, high light transmission, UV blocking, excellent insulation, easy installation, weather resistance and low weight make it superior to current alternatives.SUNBOX is  environmentally friendly, significantly reduces lighting heating and cooling coasts and provides a better and healthy work environment.

There are many added value benefits associated with installing the Sunbox Rooflight system as part of a new insulated roof or as add-on functionality to an existing one:

·        Better workforce overall health (physiological and mental).

Natural daylight is associated with better overall feelings by triggering the release of serotonin. Studies have proven that recovery rate of hospital patients is accelerated where levels of natural light are increased. Seasonal Affective Disorder (or SAD) is a clinically diagnosed condition in which the lack of sunlight in winter makes people feel ill; increased exposure to daylight will reduce the risk of SAD and also aid

the healing process.

·        Energy Saving. Rooflights can be extremely effective in reducing energy consumption in any given structure. Since lighting represents a significant and controllable part of a structure’s expense, energy saving has an undeniable economic benefit. This will also help the environment by reducing the structure’s carbon footprint. Specially installing tinted rooflights in sunny locations. Filtering Near-Infra-Red radiation can reduce heat gain and consequently air conditioning requirements and costs.

·        Workplace. Daylight improves concentration so that working environments tend to achieve increased productivity when natural daylight is introduced into them. Colors are more vivid and true, making goods appear attractive and encouraging customers to spend more time in these areas.

Light transmission and U-Value

The SUNBOX system offers a wide range of U-value and light transmission according to the combination of each solution.

Profile Availability

SUNBOX can ideally integrate with virtually any insolated roof type, using Palram’s proprietary MetalMatch™ profile matching technology, which allows it to be matched to existing or new corrugation profiles. SUNBOX is also available in over 450 currently available in the market.

UV Blocking and Resistance

SUNBOX selectively transmits solar radiation. It effectively blocks harmful UV radiation while letting in visible light. Additionally, SUNBOX withstands the adverse effects of UV radiation.

Wide Range of Suitable Structures

SUNBOX is suitable for practically all and any structures incorporating an insulated panel roofing system. Logistics centers, warehouses, public access structures, shopping centers, production & processing plants, offices, clinics and meeting halls.

Sunbox is covered by a 10 year Warranty plan, including hail, snow & rain coverage.
