LP Icon was designed by Mads Odgård in 1999 for the small Norwegian town of Flaa. He was tasked with creating a reflector-based light inspired by classic, simple forms but with a modern expression. Therefore, Odgård based his design on a hemisphere and a cylinder. The post top has been widely used over the years, and it has undergone several technical upgrades to ensure that it is always up to date with the latest performance and technology requirements.
