Located in Martina Franca, this renovation project was designed to consolidate the structure of the building but also to make the flat more spacious and modern.
Designed by ABBW architect Angelo Bruno, the style adopted is very much characterised by comfortable and cosy furnishing elements. The look of the rooms is defined by the white walls and the geometry of the coverings, which favours neutral tones.
The first significant change was the division between the living area, where there is a kitchen, a bathroom, a laundry, a living room and a storage room, and the sleeping area, consisting of a single bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom. ON ONE SIDE,the inclined profiles of the aluminium frame empty the wall and outline a splayed door. A sense of depth with respect to the wall, defined by the 40 degrees tilted surface. Like a picture frame, it surrounds the doorway and invites us to cross through it.

A house presented Otto Walker Architects with dramatic views and a choice site. Using a mix of raw timbers and chunky, native stones, Otto developed a concept that responded to the client’s specific wishes.“The materials are intrinsic to the area, and it’s still a bit of an Alpine feel that just seems to make sense there,” says Otto. “The client wanted lots of views, and indoor/outdoor living was also a component.
