Modern house Heilbronn

The house constructed by DIA – Dittel Architekten blends into the context of a historical country estate dating from the Middle Ages. The listed property is located in a rural setting in South Germany, which is characterized by natural areas and agricultural land. The new building is positioned orthogonally to the historical barn and to the road on the estate, so that it fits in with the alignment of the existing courtyard buildings. The architects also took into account the natural topography and the avenue driveway leading into the estate, which also stands within this geometric context. Constructed as an independent modern building, the new structure also respects the traditional architectural language of the surrounding buildings. Consi... More

Five Walnuts

A complete project of designer houses with modern and minimalistic design.Inspired by Japanese minimalism, these houses featuring cubic forms, reflect our team's quest for perfectionism. Located in the area of Malinova Dolina, the dwellings are designed to be part of nature and the surrounding environment. This is why the natural materials used in their construction - natural stone and silicate plaster - contribute to this. The enormous mirror glasses of the dwellings reflect the surrounding green environment, designing it on their facade, thus making the buildings part of it. More

Nine Bridges Pergola

The Pergola of The Golf Club at NINE BRIDGES is a structure built on a location that honors an old sacred tree. The Chinese hackberry, which stood for roughly 600 years before the present golf course was constructed, unconsciously instated a place of animism. The pergola rearranges the site in accordance with the orientation of an aged tree and finds its project motifs in natural algorithms.Inspired by the essential structures of natural algorithms, we have devised a ‘dual-duct system’ that integrates both the structure and the facility. The inner duct is used for ventilation and wrapped with a 12mm thick steel frame to form the overall structure. The two ducts are covered with highly dense insulating material in between, to prevent dew con... More

VÄSJÖ

NOMO Studio´s proposal for low – cost housing units in Sollentuna, Sweden revolves around the concept of a neighbourhood that reinforces the character of the area by highlighting the social aspect of living, outdoor life and proximity to nature. A very important part of the design is the courtyard that provides the conditions for a large social exchange and enables an active life. The natural environment should not only be around the area but also within the neighbourhood. The proposal aims to provide the number of young people experiencing housing shortages with small, cheap and attractive apartments. The spontaneous meeting between neighbours is encouraged by the large community areas with different environments, the bridges, which connec... More

Patios House

Housing architecture reflects the way in which we understand our being-in-the-world, and represents the conjunction of wishes, wills, emotions and ideals. The imagination process in the construction of space is, at the same time, the most basic and the most complex exercise, understanding that the house is life’s actual scenario.  We decided to abandon housing’s typological palette, rejecting trending catalogues that imprison new ways of imagining the house as a construction that must morph and transform according to life’s constant changes. We didn’t conceive objects or forms as the project’s main concern; it is a consequence. The project is conceived as a system of places and relations regulated by a continuous space... More

Hill Country House

Conceived as a prototype for a sustainable rural community, the Hill Country House serves as a beacon to show what could be: a self-sustaining home in a rural setting, virtually independent of municipal water and energy. Situated on a sweeping Texas Hill Country meadow, this private residence is defined by a series of jagged roof peaks inspired by the rise and fall of the surrounding hills. Lovingly referred to as “The Sanctuary” by its owners, an active couple of ordained ministers, and executed on a very modest budget, this modern take on the farmhouse vernacular is a place to bring people together and find spiritual renewal in a responsible, sustainable setting. The exterior of the home is defined by clean lines, a sculptural gable... La Mira Ra

La Mira Ra house, located in the South of France, is the fruit of a long reflection about the marriage of the wild nature of the Mediterranean and the minimalist purity of contemporary architecture - a marriage resulting in a unique architectural project. Realized between 2015 and 2017 by Pierre Minassian and his team of architects, today the house offers its inhabitants an intimate opening towards the sea.The integration of the project in its environment and their cohabitation were the two key elements in the design of the project. Located in a classified site, this private domain is under the obligation to include the use of the local stone in all its constructions. This requirement coupled with the love of the architect for the peacefuln... More

Hovnanian Residence

Previously used as a tuberculosis treatment center, this lush and forested area provides a great site for a calm and mellow getaway. We proposed the concept of creating a summerhouse to a network of summerhouses and vacation facilities. We encouraged them to take advantage of the sit's natural beauty and provide several different models of intimate, compact, and comfortable vacation homes that would fit seamlessly in the natural setting. The homes were designed to be positioned in the densest part of the forest to create a secluded and remote experience. The campus is the perfect place for urbanites looking to take some time off from the stressful and connected reality of the city and want to spend time in the wilderness. More
