From The Wall Street Journal to Elle, and Architectural Digest to The Lonely Planet city guide; Groos has been named as a leading example for promoting contemporary goings-on in the world of design, art, food and culture in Rotterdam. The one-of-a-kind 300m2 concept store is also heading in a different direction focusing more on high-end design, art, and collaborations with a range of creatives, yet still staying true to its original concept: to promote local talent from Rotterdam to a wide audience. The creative industry has seemingly unrealistic demands when it comes to office locations: an incubator of ideas, which is spacious and inspiring, with a unique design at a great location with car access. Salt is a response to these needs, providing small, high quality offices, each with a unique identity. Nieuw Bergen
Nieuw Bergen is set to become a unique part of the city centre of Eindhoven and combines the values of renovated and transformed buildings with new constructions. The urban strategy applied here is based on the knowledge and innovation necessary for establishing a sustainable, pleasant and dynamic living environment for future residents. The design approach echoes Eindhoven’s status as a city of technology, design and knowledge. Nieuw Bergen will get a hyper-modern feel and continues the informal character of the Bergen neighbourhood.

Markthal Rotterdam
Today Queen Máxima of the Netherlands opens Markthal Rotterdam, a project by developer Provast. Markthal is the first covered food market of the Netherlands, drawing inspiration from food markets in Stockholm, Barcelona and Valencia. The roof of the market hall is an arch accommodating 228 apartments, underneath the hall are 1,200 parking spaces and a supermarket. The combination of market hall and housing is a new typology and, located in Rotterdam’s city center, is expected to attract 4,5 to 7 million visitors each year. The construction of Markthal, a design by MVRDV, took five years to be completed. The project was executed by contractors J.P van Eesteren, Mobilis and Martens en Van Oord.

New pizza headquarters for Old Scuola
Terrazzo bar elements form the epicentre of the 350m2 industrial production kitchen and restaurant, called Old Scuola. The restaurant is founded by two young entrepreneurs to support their quest to create the ultimate pizza and is located in the new creative hub ‘Het Industriegebouw’ which also houses MVRDV and Groos Concept Store.
IWT aimed to design a spatial machine, an interplay between the support strip, the bar elements and the acoustic landscape. A metal clad support strip facilitates its fixed program - two wood-fired ovens, kitchen, stairs, toilets and storage - in a minimal programmatic footprint.

Seoullo 7017 Skygarden
Located in the heart of Seoul, a true plant village has been realised on a former inner city highway in an ever-changing urban area accommodating the biggest variety of Korean plant species and transforming it into a public 983-metre long park gathering 50 families of plants including trees, shrubs and flowers displayed in 645 tree pots, collecting around 228 species and sub-species. In total, the park will include 24,000 plants (trees, shrubs and flowers) that are newly planted many of which will grow to their final heights in the next decade.
Seoullo, the Korean name for Skygarden translates to ‘towards Seoul’ and ‘Seoul Street’, while 7017 marks the overpass’ construction year of 1970, and its new function as a public walkway in 2017.... More

Yafo Houmous Deli Restaurant
The restaurant ? Yafo, the first Parisian hummus deli has opened on 20 April 2017. Created by Lotan Lahmi, a young Israeli cook and pastry chef who arrived in France in 2010, the restaurant offers a selection of hummus every day, mixing typical Levant products and seasonal French products.

Casa Kwantes
Casa Kwantes bases itself around the clients’ desire for seclusion and privacy, whilst having a maximum of daylight and open living spaces. From the road, the bare brick wall offers only a partial glimpse into the property and family life through an opening of the white brickwork façade - a subtle indented entrance leading into an initially dark and enclosed entrance hall. In contrast, the reverse of the property completely opens up to the south with curved windows following the entire winding façade wrapped around a central olive tree.

Tennisclub in Ijburg
the club, with views onto centre court in one direction, and out over the IJburg on the other. Construction started in April, 2014. The club house is open to the general public to grab a bite or drink.
The club house is a 36-metre long open volume with services on either end such as dressing rooms, a kitchen, storage and toilets. The main space is multifunctional, so it can be used for the club’s many events. The roof dips down towards the south side and is raised towards the north up to a height of seven metres, creating an informal tribune for the club with terraced seating. HONG KONG - Winy Maas, the renowned co-founder of Dutch design firm MVRDV, transformed a former Hong Kong industrial building into unique offices, filled with light and topped by a roof garden. Implementing his ‘honesty principle’ in design, its interiors expose all wiring and pipes, contrasted by glass and steel.
133 Wai Yip Street resulted in an entirely see-through office, aiming at ultimate transparency within the workplace. This includes its functional technical components, such as glass lifts shafts and interior furnishings – glass tables, shelves, floors, speakers, computers and walls. Balancing Barn
The MVRDV project is built on a beautiful site by a small lake in the English countryside near Thorington in Suffolk. From the road, the barn is almost invisible; the front being only 7 metres wide, with a pitched roof, faces the long straight driveway approach, suggesting a small house with a traditional shape. The volume, however, has a length of 30 metres. At the midpoint it starts to cantilever over the descending slope; a balancing act made possible by the rigid structure of the building; resulting in 50% of the barn being in free space, and giving a wide view over the Suffolk landscape, adjacent lake and surrounding gardens. Ragnarock, a gold-studded, gravity-defying rock museum in Roskilde
Ragnarock, MVRDV and COBE’s museum of pop, rock and youth culture in Roskilde, Denmark, stands as an architectural embodiment of rock music which hopes to inspire a new generation of musicians, artists and creative professionals. The 3.100m2 building, complete with colossal cantilever, houses the main museum experience which also includes an auditorium, administrative facilities and a bar.

The city of Rennes, led by Mayor Nathalie Appéré announced today that the team of MVRDV, ALL and Giboire won the competition for the project Ilot de l’Octroi. This new residential development is part of the Rennes 2030 urban project and will transform Octroi into a green union between existing paths along the Ille et Vilaine rivers and the centre of the city.

What would you expect, when entering a 250 m2 loft at De Rotterdam, the biggest building of The Netherlands, (designed by OMA/Rem Koolhaas), at the height of 143 meters, on the 43rd floor? Rotterdam seen from the air shows the omnipresence of water flowing through the city centre. The 25 meter total glass façade stretching from floor to ceiling, offers you a view of the Maas river, flowing through the city towards the Rotterdam harbour.
