The client lived in the United States for a long time, and was inspired by the mix-and-match of architectural and interior design styles of the country. As a result, he wanted the CAS team to capture the classic elegance of the American style in the interior design of his home. Combining two contradicting aesthetics in a singular building design is one of the most challenging aspects a designer can ever tackle in a project, but the CAS team managed to do it brilliantly in this Modern Arabic House Design in Basra, Iraq. The idea was to highlight the underlying tradition with a fine layer of modernity on the surface, so the end product turned out to be contemporary, yet Islamic at the same time.
