Sports facility Heijplaat, Rotterdam

The indoor sports facility is part of the new green residential area 'Het Verborgen Geheim,' nestled between the robust Heysehaven and the Eemhavenweg. The garden village of Heijplaat, a nationally protected cityscape, was developed in the 1910s by the director of the Rotterdam Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM). It was purposefully built for RDM workers to live close to their workplace, avoiding the then-long commute from Rotterdam. Heijplaat lies to the south of the Nieuwe Maas, with Eemhaven to the west and Waalhaven to the east. Marcel van der Burg Adding value to the neighborhoodHeijplaat is undergoing an impressive phase of transition. After the shipyard's closure, efforts have been made since 2004 to revitalize the area. CBS De Regenboog

The single-story building may appear as a simple shoebox, but looks can be deceiving. Once inside, a new world unfolds. It's an environment where children experience adventures and discover learning. The design of the building is child-centered, just like the vision of CBS De Regenboog. How do you create such a rich learning environment where students' talents can blossom to the fullest? We looked through the eyes of a child and designed from the perspective of a teacher.A child's world of experienceThe interior of CBS De Regenboog perfectly aligns with a child's world of experience: concave and convex inner walls take center stage. IKC Vossepark

The recently amalgamated Meer en Dorp school and BLOS childcare center now have the privilege of inhabiting a brand-new, integrated child center in Hillegom – the IKC Vossepark. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this building is cocooned by lush greenery, nestled beside a park, and in close proximity to a petting zoo. This location is nothing short of ideal, given the primary objective of creating a child center that optimally nurtures child development. It's a setting that offers an exemplary starting point for this mission, and the architectural design exploits this advantage to the fullest. Educational building Aurora

This new monolith has recently found its place among similar buildings on the green campus of Wageningen University & Research. While the exterior presents a robust appearance, the building is anything but anonymous; instead, it stands out as a remarkably transparent and easily comprehensible structure. And what about its interior? Inside, the building offers flexibility, a well-defined layout, and a pronounced emphasis on sustainability. Aurora, named after the goddess of dawn, truly lives up to its name in this design, where abundant daylight is a key feature. Ronald Tilleman Interaction and collaborationAurora, as an educational building, actively promotes interaction and collaboration among its occupants. It serves as a hub fo... More

Niekée

Dynamic world of learning Niekée is the result of a merger of three pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) locations in Roermond. A facilitary centre was required where the pupil plays a central role and where all pupils can develop their capabilities to the full. Interaction of pupils central LIAG began by adapting the Programme of Requirements to the educational philosophy of the school. This meant that the work places and workshops had to be close to the heart of the school and visible to all the users. A vital part of the chosen solution is raising the central area. From here there is a view of and into all the work places, whereby the required visual interaction is achieved of its own accord. In addition to fixed lessons, pu... More
