Plan and design competition ASAS designated as 1 of 2 winners. The new care center must be based on the existing building character. The complex program is sought to be broken down to a building structure where the scale follows the city's established scale. At the village Maasbree, the existing center 'De Adelaar' has been converted into a new intergral health center for general practitioners, pharmacy and physiotherapy. The existing venue has been completely stripped and has been redesigned. In addition, the building has been expanded with a piece of new construction. More

This project clearly establishes a two-way dialogue between the clinic and the square facing it.Large, vertical, butt-joint glazed window panes without intermediate profiles flood the interior with a diffused northern light and completely open up the façade, allowing for the interior ceiling’s volumetric “game” - formed of prismatic shapes in shades of blue and white – to be viewed from the outside.This interior-exterior transparency is maintained in the inside spaces, making felt the spatial continuity created by the ceiling’s forms.The waiting area is accentuated by the warmth of its oak skirting board.The façade appears dematerialised through the combination of the large glass window panes and a thin coating of panels of mini-wave micro-... The architects’ studio Alonso Saezmiera & González Ayo executes mainly residential and public projects. Their work in the healthcare, outpatient and hospitals stands out. In this regard, we want to highlight the work done at the Health Centre of the Miribilla area of Bilbao, which they executed in 2015. In this work, they were assisted by Umetal, who on the base of a façade ventilated with metal slats, applied their experience and technology to raise the appearance of the façade of the courtyard of the health centre to an aesthetic design level, which in this case evokes the appearance of being surrounded by plants, but with infinite possibilities.
