These two elements delimit the void to work on.  Within this contained space, loose volumes are organized to delineate the different living functions. International Architecture Practice, 10 Design (part of Egis Group) is pleased to announce the completion of Jinwan Huafa International Business Center, an iconic landmark as well as growth engine of the Jinwan District in the coastal city of Zhuhai, China.Located on a prime waterfront site in Zhuhai, China, the 172,033 sq m International Business Centre (IBC) is a mixed-use complex comprising hotel, office, serviced apartment and retail spaces.  As part of the 3.8 sq km masterplan of the new Jinwan Aviation City, IBC is the third project that 10 Design has created for Huafa Group in the district. Led by Design Partner Ted Givens, 10 Design has just completed the new Fushan Primary School, which will serve as an educational and community hub for the local residents in Zhuhai, China.   The qualities of Lingnan Garden design, namely: innovation, unique materiality, and abstracted natural forms, were the driving inspiration for the school’s courtyard master plan. The twin volumes of the school are arranged to create a large internal courtyard. International architecture practice 10 Design completes Gaoxin Hi-Tech Commercial Hub, a circa 54,400sqm office development located along the shoreline of Tangjia Bay in the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone, China.    Huafa Group’s brief for the development was to conceive a design concept which encourages a professional and personal experience for entrepreneurs and employees who aspire to a live/work lifestyle. Inspired by the natural mountains and lush topography of the immediate Chongqing context, the building sits proudly on the top of a hill like a sculpture with its lower levels cascading down the hillside.  Barry Shapiro, Asia Managing Partner, comments: “We are delighted to see that our design for the Wide Horizon Clubhouse has come to fruition. The Industrial Service Centre provides 54,699sqm of office space for burgeoning start-up companies and entrepreneurs to collaborate, establishing an incubation platform in the new Jinwan Aviation City Zhuhai, China. The maximal external volume of the house was determined before the start of the design. This limit defined the footprint, the maximum height of the building and the height of the individual floors, which are linked to the existing school building.The requirement was to design a building containing classrooms, chill-out and communication spaces within this volumetric limit.
