刘家小院 桃舍 PEACH HOUSE, Beijing– Rural housing construction owes little to the State and household savings even enable to build private ownership. By allowing the purchase of materials from local manufacturers and artisans, self-built housing construction is prevalent in rural areas. Private property goes back to the agricultural reform of the 1950s, which did not succeed in establishing collective habitations, but reaffirmed the notion of private property as the expression of the work of the family. Black House

This four bed family house sits in the heart of the Kent countryside surrounded by mature trees and gardens.   The house encompasses a mixture of framed and linear views across four carefully sculpted gardens that aim to each capture a piece of the surrounding landscape.   Inspired by the building and land topography of Dungeness, located on the south Kent coast, this house is a collection of five modules clustered around a central courtyard. The Black House’s rectangular massing was divided into blocks by key site axes, a view from the pool to a large populus tree, and a previous path to the site. Empezar Container Freight Station

Empezar is one of the leading logistics companies at the rapidly expanding port in Mundra, Gujarat. With their immediate need for an administration building, the proposal also considers converting one of their storage yards into a Container Freight Station, with future warehousing and yard expansion possibilities. The building is constructed out of locally availbile brick which helps in insultating against extreme temperatures faced in the Mundra region. Stategically placed, wind-towers, wind-scoops and water bodies form a system of passive air conditioning for the building, reducing the power requirement. More
