Finnish House
The Finnish House Anna Carin Design in collaboration with Jake Dowse Architects, created a modern, warm, functional home for a family of 5 and 2 pugs. Our client required a better use of space to accommodate their family, lifestyle and workspace. The architect effectively maximized the use of space whilst being sensitive to the height restrictions and streetscape with a Seven-Day Adventist Church adjacent to the site. With the addition of an awning roof and terrace the attic space became a light-filled home office for our lawyer client. Barangaroo Apartment
Designed by internationally renowned architect Richard Francis-Jones, of FJMT, Anadara building is located on the harbour front at Barangaroo. Anna Carin Design was engaged to create a comfortable but stylish pied-a-terre for a retired Pharmacist and his wife. Sea grass wallpaper, upholstered bedheads, the hand knotted wool rug and cashmere blankets bring texture and warmth to the apartment- making it feel just like home. Custom designed joinery in the lounge room encases the TV and a stone plinth was installed below to house an oil burner fireplace. More

Roseville Home
The driving concept for this Federation house was to create spaces of silence and noise. The owner, a cellist for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, required a space for practice as well as quiet contemplation away from the busier family areas of the home. We were asked to create a home that was timeless yet contemporary, composed and serene. The front lounge and adjoining music room were striped of the existing carpet, fireplace surround, drapes and light-fittings. The exposed timber floors were then sanded and stained dark to ground the room. It was important to modernise the house whilst celebrating it's beautiful artisan features.
