When the CEO of Elance Learning Center, a multidisciplinary tuition center with over 5000 students across the coastal state of Kerala in India, approached the architects to design a headquarters rooted in their ideologies within a limited space of around 3000 sqft, the architects had to take a novel approach to the design while maintaining the core values of the given criteria. Graffiti on the walls and an aged concrete finish create the illusion of a “memory of place”. It’s as if there was an industrial space here before. To complement the texture of concrete and make the room cosier, the floor is carpeted with a traditional “carpet” pattern. Caption The furniture has a warm wood texture. It was conceptualized under the premise of seeking a single level in the majority of the house, making it a discreet and private project.
