Designed by the Italian-Danish duo GamFratesi, WALTZ is a modular wall coat hanger inspired by the lightness of the steps of the oldest, best known ballroom dance from which the piece takes its name. The repeated sinuous rotations of the dance are the inspiration behind the concept and shape of the piece which, although well-defined, leaves space for project freedom thanks to the possibility to combine multiple modules, each made up of three bent elements – the first two facing upwards and the third facing down – and position them along the wall on the same axis or flip them upside down, thus reproducing the ideal line traced by the willowy movements of two dancers spinning incessantly to the sound of music, tracing the profile of the waltz on the dance floor. To enhance its functionality and create new links, WALTZ can be enriched with delicate wooden knobs applied directly to the structure at the top of each single curve.
