Developed in conjunction with the new Pedestal Table, Skram is this year debuting a new chair and stool design that is likely to get the attention of aficionados of chair design. A born classic, the Piedmont Seating pieces are at once distinctly modern and rooted in the tradition of Scandinavian chair design in their design and workmanship.

About the new pieces, Skram lead designer Marks says, “I am interested, more than any other type of design, in seating. This is mostly to do with the fact that no other furniture type interacts so directly, intimately with people. So every time I get to work on a new seating piece, it’s an opportunity to do something that is totally new but constrained, in a good way, by the form of the human body. I am pleased with these designs both in concept and in execution.” The Piedmont Seating pieces are offered in three heights compatible with dining, counter, and bar applications. They are made of steel and feature a carved timber seat and backrest with timber detailing at the floor level. The new products are offered in all of Skram’s standard timber and metal finish options and, like most of the Company’s products, can be customized.
