The Fuchshofschule in Ludwigsburg's west is spatially designed to provide an appropriate place of learning and shared exchange for various large parts of the school community. The new school building, which emerged from a competition, now extends northwards from Fuchshofstraße. Based on the design image of a filled bookshelf on a playground, it was possible to transfer this ideal of school learning between the imparting of knowledge and social interaction into a wooden hybrid building. Haar wens was om deze stallen om te bouwen tot een praktijkruimte gecombineerd met een gastenverblijf. Aan het water en midden in het groen moest het een fijne en rustige verblijfplek worden. WiP has initiated a close collaboration with BPER Banca for the creation of a coordinated image for the Group, establishing guidelines for materials, finishes, and color schemes. Subsequently, WiP was tasked with overseeing the integrated architectural and system design. The project proposes an essential compact volume in response to two factors: minimum plot dimensions, and delicate terrain characteristics, which require simplicity in decision-making.The result is a small box, like a gift, that opens transversally to the garden conditioned by the proximity of the neighbors. A white volume that unfolds through panels of heat-treated wood that incorporate the garden spaces into the interior of the home, expanding the visual limits of the spaces and humanizing the private spaces.
