Un nuovo modo di immaginare e interpretare la parete: una superficie ininterrotta e omogenea, con un’unica finitura da pavimento a soffitto, in cui sono i tagli geometrici delle aperture e dei battiscopa a definire lo spazio.Non solo giochi di colore, ma anche di luce a definire gli ambienti e delimitare gli spazi. Forme neutre da pitturare o rivestire con la carta da parati, all’insegna della totale libertà.

Abington Friends School, Headwaters Discovery Program
After the completion of Abington Friends School’s (AFS) Garden Station (for early childhood students), we worked with the school once again to design and build AFS Outside: an abstract play structure, water feature, and associated landscape forms. Here, older students can crawl, swing, run, and climb during their breaks from classroom learning. This area has become a central part of AFS’ curriculum; the structure challenges young students to take physical risks on their own terms and integrate the adjacent natural forms into their everyday play. IVY represents a new way to experience and enjoy leisure time, being surrounded by the green of nature and the warmth of wood. Outside the ivy will cover in time the entire facade of the building, "hiding" the existing wall and making the openings on the avenue, as if it was a real greenhouse in Reggio Emilia city center. The design for Fitty Wun reflects the playful, sometimes irreverent, personalities of the clients, a couple with three active young boys and a “work hard, play hard” approach to life. The clients desired a house centered on large, light-filled central spaces where the kids and friends of the family would love to hang out today and ten years from now. This space acts as a welcoming, warm “Panopticon that allows the boys the freedom to be boys while the parents are strategically within ear, if not always eyeshot, to arbitrate, adjudicate and apply basic medical direction” (the client’s words!)The front façade is an interpretation of a traditional townhouse—a simple composition that blends in with the neighborhood but hints at the modern inter...
