French architectural practice MZArchitecturecarried out the architectural and interior design for Yo’Mo Lounge, an upmarket Lebanese and Mediterranean lounge restaurantin the heart of Cannes, South of France. The 200m² restaurant has three main areas - a lounge furnished with armchairs and sofas designed for convivial aperitifs, the main restaurant with bespoke banquette seating, and a 12 seat private chef’s tablewith a view to the open kitchen.
Michael Zander, owner and head designer at MZArchitecture commented; “We drew our inspiration for the design from the rich and vibrant materials and traditional styles of craftsmanship found in the middle-east”. The restaurant creates a stylish and intimate atmosphere with polished wood inset with mother of pearl, a tile floor ‘carpet’ and oak shelving showcasing candles and ornaments. The backlit hammered copper mural of the Mediterraneansea in the lounge, and bespoke furniture in vividcolours and patterns complete the design.
The restaurant opened in 2013 at 25 rue Hoche, Cannes.
