World Trade Center Nanjing Business Club

Kokaistudios as Architects

The World Trade Center (WTC) Nanjing Business Club was developed by the F&T Group to act as a showcase of their upcoming WTC Nanjing mix-used development which is targeted for completion in 2015.

Designed to act as a hub and a bridge to connect international business in the city of Nanjing and represent the core values of World Trade Center organizations global mission; Kokaistudios approached the project as being both an exercise in interior design and branding. Located on the 31th floor of a tower neighboring the WTC Nanjing site, the space as an introductory journey to the main project and is organized in a concentric layout that concentrates most of the views onto the WTC project.

The elegant lobby lounge, punctuated by the screen-like bamboo artwork and cloud patterned marble, is designed using flexible layout systems and furniture to allow the client to host various kinds of events as per the needs of their users from press conferences to product launches. Chinese design elements are used in modern ways combined with latest technology to project the global image of WTC Nanjing as a trading platform connecting the city of Nanjing and the world throughout the project.

Two multimedia rooms, featuring large touch screen and interactive wall projection, are designed to giveguests a deep understanding of the WTC Nanjing project and the project design and development team. The theater area is characterized by custom designed furniture and is designed to mix elegance & luxurywith comfort.

An elegant meeting lounge bar is located of the main entrance area and acts as an entertainment area, wine bar and cigar lounge for informal business meetings. Characterized by a strong emphasis onnatural woods; Kokaistudios shaped the bar area with round edge and a beveled design inspired by theshape of the main buildings in the upcoming WTC Nanjing project.

A main feature of the project is the central corridor in the core of the project that links all of the areas. Inspired by the flow and the strength of the nearby Yangzi River, and its role in linking China from East to West; Kokaistudios designed a flowing wall system whose irregular shape and glossy marmornio surface shimmer in the reflective light. Leading off the main corridor the space contains both public areas used for the WTC as well as the corporate offices of the F&T Group.

Designed to meet the mission of the WTC Organization, the meeting and teleconference rooms are designed to meet the demand of clients whose businesses are global in nature. The executive offices are characterized by excellence of materials and craftsmanship featuring fine Italian furniture.

The WTC Business Center is a landmark in Nanjing’s drive to become a center for international commerce, and a meeting place for global business and political leaders.
