As a veteran of the San Diego Chargers Football Team, Andy Parker is no stranger to fitness. After running his own growing fitness center for many years, it was time to move to a larger facility. Along with the added area needed, it was time to bring the fitness center into the new century.
Along with the addition of racquetball courts, physical therapy, day spa, and a child's gym, the facility is now completely linked to the Internet with downloadable workouts, physical training and other capabilities.
The design team of Silva Studios Architecture & Apogee Design, have created a contemporary open plan facility with interesting views and shapes.
Client requirements were to create an environment of movement, action and color. This was achieved with curves, both in plan and elevation, and use of proportional massing to create a feeling of being outdoors. Buildings within a building.
