Three major axes were oriented towards significant scenic views and along the natural landscape, which organize the long-range Campus Master Plan for the University of Northern British Columbia. At the intersection of these axes is the “Agora,” a single-story internal connector between all major buildings. As the university has grown, the radial organization has kept the essential relationships of the plan. The design guidelines require exposed timber and stone inspired by indigenous building traditions to provide both design freedom and a cohesive campus aesthetic.
