Located in the northwestern part of Mexico City, with Plaza Carso, the Cervantes mixed-use tower includes apartments, offices and retail. The tower’s 22 stories are organized along a vertebral spine that provides structural rigidity where all vertical services are located. Facing the Soumaya Museum and Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation, the tower’s orientation maximizes views on all sides. Connection as urban locator and residential onlooker creates new participation, new dynamism for the center’s educational and artistic elements mixed with residential and commercial program. The asymmetrical plan of the center is consolidated with a continuous window façade that can open completely, allowing efficient cross-ventilation, minimizing inner energy consumption, and reducing the use of artificial energy.
