This project is the first collaboration between Bulgaria, the UK and the Shanghai offices for the Chengxin Group.
This partnering approach allows collective expertise to be called upon when needed. The brief received from the Chengxin Group was for a sustainable solution, that reflected the aspirations of the company.
The design was thermally modelled and targeted an BREEAM "Excellent" rating. One key concept was the green roof, designed to minimise surface water run-off.
The cladding concept incorporated bamboo to create a distinctive indentity and reflect the culture of the area. The buildings were designed to be naturally ventilated using large water gardens as temperature moderators through the winter and summer.
