With its storage capacity becoming insufficient after a successful first few years, the concert venue ‘Le Prisme’ needed a new addition. The Techno-Prisme was hence located on the grounds of the original concert hall and its pyramidal glass brick façade.
The new addition’s metallic skin shimmers with colour during the day: the 50x50 cm pyramidal aluminium panels vary with four different shapes, and gradually open in a loom-like manner. They form cloudlike coloured images wrapping around the seven and a half metre high walls. The finish of the cassettes contrasts subtly between anodized silver and coloured lacquer. Two large doors with a height of 5m allow forklifts to manoeuvre the equipment needed inside the multi-purpose hall: demountable stage, seating and theatre equipment.
