Studio House

studioata as Architects

In the heart of Turin, closed to Piazza Castello, in a 1800 Palace, there is an apartment where the space is divided by a thick bearing wall. From the composition way, all the service space were leaned on the bearing wall, making all the other space free to be able to have the living area on the east side and the night area on the west side of the flat. The bathroom, the wardrobe, the laundry and a small mezzanine studio were put together with a great simplicity, bringing out the harmonic space proportion.

The young lady owner , after been living in London for five years and working as interior decorator painting trompe –l’oeil, she was imaging for her own house, simple white spaces, full of light.

White and natural material, as elm wood on the floor, Luserna stone on the bathroom, withe Carrara marble on the kitchen top, white metal for the staircase, are the flat unquestioned main character.

The staircase The staircase fits in the space with pure simplicity, as an essential furniture, making games of light and shadows. The essential structure, makes it as a minimal design in pure syntony with the apartment stile.

The thin withe steps are made with a metal structure settle together and walled up. Also the big elm wood console has got a metal structure as a support on the inside.
