Student Accommodation, Aarhus Habour

Arkitema as Architects

The future student accommodation block of flats is to be built as a single and markedly 12 storey apartment building in low-class energy 2025. With a ’sun field’ on the roof with solar panels and solar panels on the facade facing Bernhardt Jensen Boulevard the house will produce enough energy to meet both heat and electricity consumption in the student accommodation.

Facade facing Bernhardt Jensen Boulevard consists of a large amount of solar cells integrated into the structures of the balconies. Two balcony structures bind together and establish a frame that nicely connects with the enclosure of the windows on the other three facades, whilst leaving a delicate facade depth and rhythm. The tower has a robust façade in white high-strength concrete, which contrasted with a warm interior, which starts already in the coating of the cut with a warm golden sandwich plate in aluminum and continues throughout the tower with shared balconies, covered with wood. Top up is a ’sun field’ with energy-producing techniques. Here is connected solar cells and solar panels in pairs.

Most of the homes are two-room apartments that gets daylight through windows proportioned in different sizes and placed in varied patterns. The high degree of variation contributes to an even distribution of light in the room and frames the stunning views.
