Wish of the client is to develop a mixed area with a high quality of urban space and landscape, to provide best living qualities even with a high density but with a low FAR, to build up a modern compound suitable for office and residential spaces, a place with flexible spaces that give the owner the choice to live and/or work in the same space as he prefers.
The image of the project should be fresh, the architecture language and principles should be new, and the compound should mark a trend within Shenyang city. The compound should offer working spaces with special qualities, we as architects want to provide with our design spaces full of life and spaces rich in quality.
The site is located in the south of Shenyang with excellent traffic conditions, near to the city and not far from the airport. Connected with the Shendan highway in the west and the Shenhuan highway in the north the site is reachable from any place in a reasonably short time.
The planning land area has a size of 29 ha partly including streets that have to be constructed by the developer.
We acknowledge the actual urban planning main criteria, but through a change on the architecture form we manage to create a richer urban space with coherence between the buildings, the accessibility systems and the landscape design.
The new layout increased the floor area ratio controlling the density and building heights, putting special attention to the green ratio and the quality of the open spaces.
