Servus Credit Union approached us in 2007. They had just purchased a poorly lit, inefficient call center, which needed to be transformed into their new corporate headquarters.
The facility’s original design left employees disconnected from one another, and from the natural environment. Dim artificial lighting lent a twilight quality to the space. Operating costs were high, as inefficiencies in the building envelope allowed energy to seep out of the building.
Today, the Servus Corporate Centre is a healthy, engaging work environment for employees. Inhabitants engage with the natural environment, as light and fresh air spill into the building through operable windows. An atrium cut into the heart of the building allows Servus staff to circulate freely through the building and interact with one another.
From an operating perspective, Servus now benefits from dramatic reductions in energy costs, due to our replacing the building envelope with efficient cladding. The building is anticipated to achieve LEED Silver certification.
