The site of the competition is placed in.one of the most beautiful alpine regions. The valley of Cortina D’Ampezzo is characterized by unique natural elements that coexist in harmony with elements sedimented during the centuries. For this reason the aim is to have a project that is not very invasive and ,in particular, that respect the landscape and maintains the natural beauty . The starting point is the analysis of the surrounding and the urban fabric ‘s typology that are typical of the site. The layout of the buildings express the intention to put in contact the project to the typical aggregation of the Alpine valleys. The position permit an optimal climatic exposure of the accomodations which are oriented in accordance with east-west axis and that receive a proper sun exposure on both facades. The houses for elderly people are located in six volumes deployed along two parallel and opposite buildings one upstream and the other downstream of the project area. The intermediary space between these two buildings is occupied by a volume that it develops over two levels, one underground parking and one that is partially basement, with an alternance of green patios and winter gardens, in which take place common spaces for group activities. The disposition of the buildings generates a space used as green roof that offers the opportunity to take advance from an open accessible area, equipped and protected for outdoor activities.
