London College of Fashion’s rooftop, part of the original design for the college’s central London building, has been transformed by London-based architecture practice Studio Weave. Originally conceived as an outdoor space for students to relax, the new roof garden will combine the characteristics that make the space unique - its concrete frame - with colours and shapes seen in the skyline. These colours are reflected in the decking laid in a herringbone pattern, a nod to LCF’s roots. The mixture of planters, seats and tables will enable learning in small groups as well as the Fashion Space Gallery’s events programme. The space will be launched during the London Festival of Architecture and is accompanied by an event series curated by Meneesha Kellay.
