Continuing on the theme of energy, the River House uses as its site an imaginary urban canal, and wraps the built form around and over it. Why should canals and river bodies be neglected as sources of metaphysical energy?
With this concept the river house uses the force of 'flow' as its theme, using volumes and plan forms that interact with the river in their dynamism and lack of repetition. Repetition, if any, is in the use of orthogonal lines to make a statement, and provide stability to a very dynamic site.
