This stunning residence in Basalt, Colorado was completely remodeled by Forum Phi in 2013. The client originally hired Forum Phi to replace the splitting wood floor, but upon considering the firm’s creative ideas on the space, they put their trust in Forum Phi to move forward with a full remodel. Awe-inspiring views of the Colorado landscape and Mount Sopris now shine throughout the entire home. These magnificent views were previously blocked by the fireplace, which has since been relocated to the center of the main living area. The new fireplace is both functional and an interesting point of design. Forum Phi designed the outdoor space to feel like an extension of the interior living room. Floor to ceiling glass windows showcase the scenery, while the outdoor living room is perfect for entertaining.
The client’s style is transitional, a perfect mix between contemporary and traditional. This led to an interior that gives a sense of being part of the natural environment. At the Ridge Road Residence, Forum Phi succeeded in bringing the beauty of the outdoors in. A few unique touches were added specific to the client including a kitchen counter made from the stone petrified in the mud of a riverbed—perfect for the resident fly fisherman. Additionally, Forum Phi was able to capture extra space in the home to create a state of the art wine room for the collectors. The final floor plan also added 500 square feet to create a much needed office/bedroom space in the back of the home. Forum Phi turned a great Colorado home into an extraordinary one that this Basalt family will cherish for generations to come.
