On October 20th 2011 under great public interest, the newly-built floating restaurant called ‘De Limonadefabriek’ (The Lemonade Factory) on the river Lek in Streefkerk (NL) was towed 10 km from its site of construction on the wharf in Groot-Ammers to the marina in Streefkerk. There it replaces the old ‘chalet-like’ restaurant. The floating restaurant offering a bistro, cooking studio and six luxurious hotel rooms at water level was built according to the design of the young Dutch architect Simon Hanemaaijer and has elements of an industrial monument. For example, a tall chimney and a serrated roof that were common features in factory buildings.
Among the SAB-profile materials used in this boat were, interior roof cladding 106R+/750 (perforated) and structural liner trays 90/500 in RAL 9002. The industrial look of this new asset on the river Lek was further enhanced by using the trapezoidal profile 19/1050 on both the roof and walls using Colorcoat® Grey Aluminium RAL 9007. The assembly work was performed by Cladding Partners in Oosterhout.
