The Real Madrid Resort Island, located on Al Marjan artificial Island in Ras al-Khaimah (UAE), has been developed as a sports devoted island, based on the legendary story and image of the European club.
Our team has been commissioned by the Ras al-Khaimah government to create a program and an architectural concept that could attract both Real Madrid fans all over the world and families who would spend some holidays in the UAE.
Inspired by coral forms (“Al Marjan” means “coral”) for the masterplan and the hexagonal and pentagonal structure of a soccer ball for the roof, the main idea was to create landscape on this flat artificial land.
Built on a 50 hectares land, the complex will feature the first ever stadium opened to the sea (10 000 seats), which will of course host international football games and competitions, as well as cultural and festive events.
Sport facilities like an olympic swimming pool, all watersports facilities, indoor sports fields (football, basket ball…), a sports clinic and a Real Madrid training center will complete the sports program our team has been elaborating.
As one of the icons of the project, the Real Madrid Museum will immerse its visitors inside the passion of football and the Real Madrid aura, using new technologies as holographic and interactive animations.
A family intended amusement park of 12 hectares will include, among others attractions, a gigantic roller coaster, submarine circuits, a panoramic tower….
Beside this “sportainment” program, a 5 stars luxury hotel with direct VIP access and view to the stadium, a 60 bungalow beach resort with its private beach, a 400 apartments complex and 48 villas with exclusive access to the sea have been planned.
Close to the villas and the hotel will be located the marina to park cruise boats and to receive visitors arriving by sea. A large part of this area will be a restaurants complex with large terraces overlooking the boats.
Other facilities like bars, discos, spas, fitness centers will be spread all over the resort. A shopping mall with all the main international brands (beauty hall, jewelry and watches, men and women fashion shops, sports equipment) will offer to the visitors and residents a large range of food and beverage tenants, each with a view either on the park or on Ras al-Khaimah seashore.
