The basic idea The horizontality of the planned façade deliberately refers to the urban planning context and tries to establish a dialogue with the opposed GDR-architecture. Not the isolation from, but a dialogue with the counterpart is considered – albeit material and movement develop from a different façade language. The material selection and the formal language of our time are combined with classical façade designs from the early modern.
The desired individuality of the three different areas of use is achieved by a subtle structuring that is created by varying plasticity, height and material surfaces of the façade band. The facade of the 4-star hotel mirrors the quality of the hotel category by the interaction of black anodised socle wainscotting and black anodised window profiles with the lower metallic gold-coloured parapet band.
The slim linear element leads over into the higher iridescent silver-colouredparabet band of the metal façade of the 2-star hotel with its shear walls that are visible in the façade. The parapet band reduces gently upwards to the projecting maintenance space element of the metal façade of the office block and opens the view on the metallic black-coloured ceiling strip. The window profiles and the vertical night-cooling-panel-element are black anodised as well.
