In this private residence for an Industrialist in Le Corbusier's city of Chandigarh, care had to be taken to keep the project in spirit with Le Corbusier's precepts, as well as satisfy the family's requirement for individual spaces for each member.
The project vastly increased the interior space by judicious use of partitions, as well as increased opening sizes giving out to the outside. Material used was local brick and hand poured concrete for the roof slabs.
An extra floor was added to the top (seen in photo dating from 2001). Local contractors were used for the building work.
