Transformation and renovation of an existing school building (1975) in Zoetermeer for the purpose of housing a branch of the Pleysier College.
After intensive consultations with the user concerning the teaching methods as applied by the Pleysier College, we chose to design a warm colored auditorium in the center of the building, the heart, which serves, every school day, as a collection area from where the students leave to their own group spaces. The traffic- and group spaces are materialized in light neutral tones in order to provide for a spatial uniformity.
Adjacent to the auditorium a professional kitchen was created. The facility is meant for students to prepare food within the educational framework, but also, in the evenings, for the neighborhood residents.
