The built form responds to the shape of the foreshore, maximising ocean views from within the building, bending back to connect into the existing Pilot Station building. The building opens up to the entry vista, with a forecourt created for vehicular access and drop off, creating a clear address. A large external terrace extends from the top level towards the water, over the floor below, providing a functional outdoor space for occupants. Roofs of the podium are to be planted. Internally, centralised cores allow for maximum flexibility and view opportunities. Externally, the facades of the office component express the horizontal nature of the built form whilst providing appropriate sun shading. The base of the building responds in materiality to the surrounding break walls, providing a robust solution adjacent to the ocean’s edge.
