The house is located in the urbanization "Penalar" Torrelodones city, Madrid. The temperatures are extreme (very hot in summer and too cold in winter), and low humidity.
The house has two levels, and is partially buried. The ground floor has access to the south, and houses a rehearsal hall (the owner is a famous actress), two bedrooms, a bathroom and the engine room. The first floor has access to the north, and has a single space (living room-kitchen) and bathroom.
The housing structure is extremely simple, and triangular in shape, as a result of striking a balance between environmental concerns, programmatic constraints, site constraints and the need to view all the rooms south of the plot.
Due to the slope of the plot, the main entrance to the north, is on the first floor. Instead the ground floor have direct access to garden, to the south.
The housing structure has a clear female symbolism, as a tribute to women. In this sense the main entrance is located right in the northern apex of the triangle. Access to housing is done through an intermediate space that provides a microclimate favoring both winter and summer, and shows the telluric sacred and that you want to provide housing.
The sides of the house have no opening except a few small holes for ventilation of bathrooms. In contrast, the south side is fully open, and has an important system of vertical and horizontal sunscreens.
Thus, in winter, the south side becomes a large glass area, providing a huge greenhouse and heating the house naturally. However, in summer, the south side can be closed almost completely, creating a shaded space, preventing the hot housing and allowing views.
The house can change their behavior bioclimatic easily by simply moving some sunscreen panels and certain interior vents. Thus, the housing itself may heat or cool, when the occupants they see fit.
