The site presents a platform with privileged views over the river Douro. It is often occupied by popular festivities. This suggested that the construction should be displaced to the north border into two autonomous buildings (cathechesis and auditorium) unified by a slab that receives common spaces. This autonomy responds to the demand of two phases of construction.
Due to the public use of the area the access ramp was created at the west limit of the building, in such a way that it released the terrain at south. This area has stone pavements in the car parking but is mostly gravelled.
In terms of construction, the two buildings are different: the first, with cathechesis and administrative rooms is a plastered prism, painted white as the surronding façades of the church or the parish preast house. The second building, with an auditorium and a multifunctional room, is of concrete, differentiating by opposition the uses of the complex.
The impact of this building in the local community is particularly relevant. Its facilities are used by over 500 children in cathechesis and cultural activities take place one after the other, developing a sense of community capable of sustaining finantially the parish social activities as well as other architectural contracts.
