Palais 12 is a new concert hall located at Heysel in Brussels, close to the Atomium monument. The Palais du Heysel, where Palais 12 is located, is an exhibition park best known for the numerous trade shows it hosts. Officially opened in September 2013, the new Palais 12 is a concert hall and auditorium that can accommodate 18,000 visitors.
For a room of this type with an international appeal, a functional and efficient lighting scheme was required to guide the countless visitors safely and easily to the entrance and car park access road. The new lighting design needed to work seamlessly with the decorative lighting already in place. It was also essential to use simple and neutral frames, which would not influence the architecture of the Palais 12.
After a long selection process, a lighting solution from Havells Sylvania was chosen. A lighting plan was created using DIALux software and incorporated Concord and Sylvania luminaires. Concord Cube downlights have been installed in the ceiling and Sylvania Sylveo projectors were installed along the access road and around the car park entrance.
The complete installation is elegant and efficient and fully meets the expectations of the Palais 12.
