Pacific Palisades is a large residential development set on a hilly site. The project consists of three blocks, a central 'U' shaped block and two shorter ones, all three following the site contour and exploiting the commanding views of Hong Kong Harbour. Extensive basement carparks, in parts going down to six basements, generous communal facilities in the lower three or four floors and in the garden, typical middle floors of about 20 or so floors containing apartments, and double-storey penthouses are the various elements of each block.
Each block is served by a number of stair and lift cores, giving access to a maximum of three apartments, but the terrace housing formation of these units result in considerable economies because of the sharing of party walls. The colour scheme in the exterior reflects the functional division of lower communal floors, typical middle apartment floors and the penthouses in the last two floors. Again, what in effect are three slab blocks are realised as though they are made up of smaller modules, resulting in a complex exterior profile.
